We’ve all heard the refrain,
No pain, no gain, time and time again.
That promise of eventual reward or value,
For the hard and painful work that you do.
I think this could only be appreciated,
When the goal has been achieved and celebrated.
Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness is my painful reality,
After doing exercise which bore no familiarity.
My muscles are now truly awake,
And I’m reminded by every obvious ache.
This will not be a deterrent towards my goal,
The pain I will endure, as my fitness journey unfold.
